It’s official, CGMFF is returning to Otavalo! Partnering with Caring Hands Animal Support and Education (CHASE), we will return to Sante Clinca Medico Veterinaria in Otavalo from December 9th – 13th. Last year we provided medical care to 484 pets, and we hope to help just as many if not more this year!
Why do we help the cats of Otavalo? Otavalo is a city located in the Imbabura province of Ecuador. Otavalo is made up primarily of farming communities with a largely indigenous population. Due to it’s history and geographic location, the economic status of Otavalo results in a large & abundant population of homeless dogs and cats. These animals rely on the generosity of community caretakers for food and clean water. Without the means to spay or neuter, these animals continue to reproduce – forever expounding the homeless animal population of Otavalo. We’re determined to help – because the animals of Otavalo deserve that chance.
Did you know that $25 is enough to sponsor the spay or neuter of a cat of Otavalo? $50 is enough to FULLY sponsor one cat (that’s a spay or neuter, rabies vaccine, flea & heartworm prevention (while supplies last), and treatment for any medical issues they may have (intestinal parasites, broken bones, minor and sometimes even major wounds!). But don’t worry, every little bit helps <3
Every sponsorship will include a photo a cat that were able to support with your help. Photos can contain a customized message – so please consider sponsoring a cat for a friend, a family member, a significant other, or anyone in your life.
Last year CGMFF supplied over $4,000 worth of surgical instruments, over $3,000 of anesthetic monitoring equipment, and flew out Brian Neumann DVM, Sophie Van Etten LVT, and Ellen of course. Let’s see what we can do together this year <3
